Chapter 147: Scouting Part 2

" TENEBRAE! " Duncan shouts so loud as he sees his own nemesis suddenly appear from behind.

As he shouts, he unleashes his own Mana Pressure, to counter Tenebrae's with the help of Fernando who decided to counterpressure Tenebrae.

Seeing the two begin to unleash their Manas, Tenebrae sees the horde from afar.

" Hmph... " Tenebrae closes his eyes, immediately deactivating his pressure.

"( He stops his Mana Pressure? )" Duncan was surprised to see it, seeing Tenebrae suddenly set off in a clash.

"( What are his intentions, huh? )" Duncan says he immediately stops unleashing his Mana further.

" Brother, what are you doing, let's- "

" Fernando! " Duncan says as he tells him to stop unleashing his Mana around the place.

He makes a 'be silent' gesture and then points with his thumbs at the Elf Horde afar behind their back.

" Fernando, we need to stop revealing ourselves. " Duncan tells him.

" Behind us are Elven armies, most of them are still marching, around our region's area, despite being far away. "

" If we increase our Mana Pressure Output here, then those armies would likely sense our presence. " Duncan says to Fernando.

" What do you say, brother!? " Fernando listens to this from Duncan, immediately looking at Tenebrae as Tenebrae then annoyingly gives a shrug.

" You bastard, you want the Elves to kill us! " Fernando shouts at Tenebrae, angry for him to able triggering their anger which resulted in them almost doing rash things.

" Damn you, Tenebrae... " Fernando says, for he begins to prepare his Magic to attack.

" Fernando, stop... " Duncan tells his brother-in-law, telling him to behave or else Tenebrae's influence will get to him further.

" You better listen to him, Fernando Richter. " Tenebrae tells Fernando.

" Your brother-in-law cares for your safety, after all. " Tenebrae adds, explaining to Fernando that he shouldn't get pissed so much when seeing an enemy, like a usual Richter House member would always do.

" You Richters, I mean the real ones, not the added members like your brother-in-law, nephew, and niece... "

" Really need to control your temper when seeing your enemies. "

" After all, for centuries, you Richters are known to be so brash, you guys probably proudly depend so much on using the 'Dragon's power, didn't you? "

" You Dragon Slaying Royal Mage-borns... " Tenebrae teases Fernando, teasing the House of Richters, dragon powers that actually can affect their emotions, making them a 'loose cannon'.

" So sad that this time, your Dragon Rage Tempers would not help you finish the job... "

" After all, saving your House Head needs great strategy, to begin with, not some overpowering frontal assault, like an honor battle between knights. " Tenebrae says.

" Indeed, that's why we were scouting here, Tenebrae. " Duncan says.

"( I need to actively reply to him before Fernando even talks. )"

"( After all, just like Irina, Hector, and the other Richters, Fernando's temper is quite off the charts too. )"

"( I must make sure he doesn't explode, I need to find a way to always cool his head. )" Duncan thinks about this while constantly replying to Tenebrae, with calming words to counter Tenebrae's provocations, his words are filled with words that triggered the fires of rage with its matches.

That's why Tenebrae had the greatest advantage over the Richters, for they are technically his prey for one of his greatest skills, his most used one, you might say that this very skill can be said as his very primary 'Passive Skill'.

{ Tenebrae's Passive Skill: [Provocation] -- LVL. 20 }

Tenebrae is well-versed in Provocation that even his own calm words could provoke any person who hears it, slicing their hearts, especially those who had fragile unstable emotions.

Even worse, not just his Provocation, Tenebrae is also known for his mysteriousness and mischief, thus making a person who had to talk to him, must carefully hear his words and analyzed them ten times to get what he means, knowing his intentions behind his words.

" So please, Tenebrae... "

" Quit playing games... "

" Tell me what do you want here? " Duncan tells him straight, he says it outright, making Tenebrae have no other words to say besides saying his real intention.

" Okay then, I'm going to tell you why I'm here... " Tenebrae sighs.

" Valines, Alvitor Prison. " Tenebrae says it.

" You all can find Hector there... " Tenebrae simply states.

" Are you telling the truth!? " Fernando asks him with a high tone.

" Suit yourself, that's your only clue from me. " Tenebrae simply replied.

" You could check the other prisons of course, but I can only assure you that Hector is indeed in Alvitor out of any prison where the Elves imprisoned the other humans. " Tenebrae tells them.

" Other humans!? " Duncan shouts as he hears it.

" You're saying he's not the only one the Elves captured!? " Duncan asks another question.

" Yes, along with some other Royals and notable people, of course. " Tenebrae simply replied.

" After all, there's no way the Elves would just capture one human Royal in their first strike, it must be a lot of them, think a little further for a bit. " Tenebrae says as he then turns his body around.

" Hey, where are you going, Tenebrae!? " Duncan shouts at Tenebrae so high as he walks away.

" Leaving...! " Tenebrae simply answered.

" After all, I already tell you what I wanted to say, the rest is on you and your wife to decide. "

" She's here too, right..., along with some 'selected personnel? " Tenebrae simply asks Duncan and he then says another word for his goodbye.

" I suggest you do your rescue mission now. "

" For the Elf March you just see, is the Flame and Sea Elves, marching with their Leaders, sent by the Elf Emperor to hunt their old adversaries. " Tenebrae told Duncan as Duncan just be silent, only hearing his words before Tenebrae completely vanished as he returned to the darkness of the forest he just went.

"( How did he know all of this in full detail? )' Duncan tries to analyze this, he scours every option in his brain, until.

"( No, it shouldn't be possible, but still... )" Duncan suddenly realized.

"( Based on how he talked, how he brings this up. )"

"( He's too calm as if he wasn't misinformed about everything he says, as if... )" Duncan realized this which immediately pisses him off.

"( Oh right, why didn't I think of that...? )"

"( This is Tenebrae we're thinking of, it must be... )" Duncan finally understands the whole thing, after a quick analysis of the whole thing.

" We lost him, brother... "

" Thank goodness he just left. " Fernando says to Duncan while Duncan clenched his teeth and fists.

He thinks of the conclusion of his quick analysis of the situation, he now understands what's going on.

" It was all this bastard's doing, Fernando. " Duncan says to Fernando.

" Pardon? " Fernando asks in confusion.

" Let's return to your sister, Fernando. " Duncan replies.

" Tell her that we must attend to Hector, ASAP. " Duncan tells him as the two then leave the place they use for scouting the Elf Army, that now already gone passed them completely.

" What about the Elf Army we just say, brother? " Fernando asks.

" Should we- "

" No, let them go to wherever they were sent to! "

" Our task does not include them, they'll probably be dealt with either by Tenebrae or someone else, I suspected... " Duncan says, suspecting that the reason why a huge army like that left the Elf Emperor's place must mean something.

But for now, Duncan already knows that those Elves leaving is actually his and the rescue team's greatest advantage right now, for this means, things will be at least smoother for them to rescue Hector.

" We must follow what Tenebrae says, Fernando... " Duncan tells his brother-in-law.

" He may not be trusted, but I knew after analyzing it that he was saying the real deal. "

" He doesn't tell us all, but judging from his answers. "

" That means, Hector must've had his time short, he's in trouble if we don't get to him faster than the original plan. " Duncan says as the two return to their camps.

...

( Meanwhile. )

[ Central Elven Region Valines, Alvitor Prison ]

" This time, I'll make sure to hurt you properly before your end, Hector... Richter... " the Forest Elf Queen says, being in charge of holding Hector as his Overseer by the Elf Emperor.

" The Emperor has permitted me to do whatever I want with you... kukuku... " she begins to summon his Torturous Thorned Vines, while the weakened Hector could only witness it and stay silent for his energy and stamina are greatly drained.

" Don't worry, Hector child... " the Forest Elf Queen says.

" I'll make sure these thorns will wake you up, through the pain! " Forest Elf Queen says to Hector.
