Black obsidian obelisks, present in every city, were acquired inside the space rift where the beast wave originated. Once humans were under its shade when the sun arrived at the top, they were granted a chance to connect their souls to a dimension, where they could summon a beast and contract it. Thus, began their beast taming journey.

Felix, during the day of the summoning, connected his soul to a different dimension and summoned an old, rusty dull sword instead. He was devastated---the dream to save his family from poverty was shattered. However, a voice echoed in his head, calling herself “Guide.”
