Dean Faust was many things. A disgraced MMA fighter. A lifelong orphan. A man who somehow managed to die slipping on his dog's pee.

Now Dean has to navigate a world he barely understands, a family he never knew he needed, and every major faction in the Fortress City quietly deciding what to do about a blacksmith's son with an unclassifiable familiar and his incredible growth through a system that rewards him for simply choosing to survive.

The slime can copy, evolve, adapt and permanently absorb any ability it encounters.

The world has no idea what that means yet.
