Halfway up the hillside, inside a luxurious mansion.

Gu Chuyan sat on the steps for half a day, memories of the day’s events causing her inner restlessness. It was not until the setting sun cast its slanted rays across the earth that she came back to her senses!

“Beep.” At that moment, she picked up her phone and mustered the courage to turn it on!

She was afraid of seeing the news, of rumors painting her as a fugitive, and she didn’t want to be a part of it! Therefore, she chose to shut it down! But after turning it on, she was expecting the news to be buzzing with rumors, considering how big the situation had become.

“Huh, how can there be nothing?” Gu Chuyan thought her phone was malfunctioning, so she stood up, dragging her numb legs, and leaned on the balcony railing.

She held up her hand so the signal was full and looked again! After refreshing several times, there was no news about her.

“Am I dreaming?” She pinched her face hard! It hurt a bit, she wasn’t dreaming!

“Beep.” At that moment, the latest news came in. She clicked on the news headline, which read: “Li Family’s second young master fainted and fell in XX restaurant, waking up incapacitated!”

She widened her eyes at such a headline!

“The CEO of the Li Corporation wanted to donate eighty million to sponsor impoverished areas, the company suspended business operation!” A previously thriving company suspending operations could mean a possible bankruptcy.

She leaned on the balcony, closing her eyes! Maybe because her emotions had been suppressed all this time, she felt a wave of sleepiness wash over her after sitting down. She hugged her knees and fell asleep.

At night, a luxurious car drove up the hillside.

Xiao Mohan looked at the pitch-black hall, stepped in, and the hall instantly lit up. The empty place was as if no one had ever been there.

He walked towards the stairs, opened the door to the bedroom, inside, everything was immaculate, devoid of any foreign presence.

“Hmm.” He faintly heard a sound, turned to look, and at the end of the corridor, on the corner of the balcony, a figure was huddled there, arms around the knees.

“Clack.” A phone slipped from her lap. Xiao Mohan walked over and reached out to stroke her hair. To his surprise, the sudden presence startled Gu Chuyan and she recoiled in fright.

“Clack.” She fell to one side, Xiao Mohan swiftly reached out and caught her.

When Gu Chuyan’s body was unceremoniously hoisted up, she looked up through blurry eyes to see a looming figure and immediately jolted awake, struggling. Stuck, she felt the man’s hand tap her forehead.

“Stop squirming.” His deep voice finally calmed her.

Xiao Mohan carried her back to the bedroom, and laid her down on the sofa.

“Xiao… Xiao Mohan?” It took her a moment to remember that the red book had “Xiao Mohan” written on it, she tried calling out his name.

“Hmm.” He sat down, looking at her with cold eyes, a slight upward curl of his lips. He slowly raised his left hand, tousling her hair lightly, “Now, I am your man.”

His words were like that of an emperor’s decree.

“…” Upon hearing his words, Gu Chuyan became entirely sober!

She shifted her body to lean against the arm of the couch, taking a deep breath, she asked timidly, “About that matter, could we talk it out?”

With the video in his hands, she was like a snake, the vulnerable part exposed to his mercy!

“Before we get down to business, would you like to drink something?” Xiao Mohan got up, taking off his black coat, he casually threw it onto the hanger.

His tall figure, dressed in a white shirt, accentuating his perfect physique!

He walked over to one side, pushed the wall adorned with a plum blossom, revealing a shelf, filled with exquisite bottles of wine, all of which appeared to have quite a few years on them.

“I…” She wanted to say, she didn’t drink.
