Chapter 107 - Ask for Help!

Xia Qin found herself in a bind when suddenly, Jiang's mother swiftly grabbed the card and pressed it into Xia Qin's hands.

“Dear, take this quickly. As Hao mentioned, we absolutely won't accept it!”

Moved, Xia Qin rose to her feet and bowed deeply to Jiang Hao with utmost sincerity.

“Thank you, Mr. Jiang!”

……

In no time at all, Sunday had come and gone.

Now it was Monday again, and time for Jiang Hao to head back to school.

With each passing day, the college entrance exam loomed ever closer.

Lately, the teachers had ramped up the pressure, piling on practice questions to help students master their time management during the exam.

But for Jiang Hao, exams were a breeze, no matter the subject.

He was always the first to finish, confidently turning in his paper and walking out.

His teachers, upon seeing his impeccably neat and nearly flawless test papers, couldn't help but beam with pride.

And so, they turned a blind eye to his early exits, almost as if they had come to an unspoken agreement.

That afternoon, true to form, Jiang Hao breezed through his math test in twenty minutes, handed in his paper with a flourish, and departed to the near-reverent stares of his peers.

With time to spare before heading home, Jiang Hao thought of his disciples, Liu Biao and the others.

“I've got some time; I might as well teach them a few new techniques.”

Intent on his plan, Jiang Hao was about to dial Liu Biao's number.

But just then, his phone rang.

To his surprise, it was Liu Biao calling.

“Darn, is Liu Biao a mind reader? I was just about to teach them, and they beat me to the punch?”

Curious, Jiang Hao answered the call.

But instead of a greeting, a cacophony of noise burst from the phone.

Liu Biao's voice followed, tinged with urgency and a hint of distress.

“Master, I've let you down!”

Jiang Hao was taken aback.

“What? How have you let me down?”

Liu Biao then began to explain the situation.

“Master, here's what happened…

Last time, our team clinched second place in the citywide high school boys' basketball tournament, while First High ended up in third.

They've never beaten us at Second High, so they've been stewing over it ever since!

This afternoon, Yang Chuanwei, the sports team captain from First High, showed up out of the blue to throw down a challenge!

He claimed our victory in the last city basketball competition was just a stroke of luck, and he demanded a rematch!

If they won, we'd have to hand over our second-place medal to them.

If we won, they'd buy each of us a new smartphone!

We got caught up in the moment and took the bet!”

Liu Biao admitted, somewhat sheepishly, before continuing.

“We weren't intimidated by Yang Chuanwei and his crew, but who could've expected that sneaky Yang Chuanwei would pull in a ringer…”

Liu Biao's voice was tinged with frustration as he spoke.

Jiang Hao listened with a steady gaze and asked in an even tone, “So, what was the outcome?”

“The outcome…”

At that point, Liu Biao seemed a bit flustered.

Jiang Hao expressed his frustration, “So, you ended up losing?”

Liu Biao quickly interjected, “No, Master, we haven't lost yet!”

Jiang Hao retorted, “If you haven't lost, then why are you calling me?”

Jiang Hao's remark left Liu Biao at a loss for words.

After a brief pause, Liu Biao replied weakly, “We just haven't lost yet, but it looks like we're about to.”
