Chapter 139 - Supporting Domestic Products

However, when he pulled out his phone, Jiang Hao discovered that his trusty old device, which had served him for nearly three years, was dead—again!

“Shoot, I just charged it this morning. How's it dead already?”

“Such bad luck,” Jiang Hao muttered under his breath.

He examined the outdated phone in his hand and couldn't help but think aloud, “I've had this for three years now. It's definitely time for an upgrade. And I should get new phones for my parents and Zixuan, too!”

With that in mind, Jiang Hao hailed a cab and made his way to the largest electronics mall in the vicinity.

Upon entering the Hongrui Electronic Mall, a sales associate, affectionately known as Sale Sister, quickly approached to assist Jiang Hao.

“Hello, welcome to Hongrui Electronic Mall!”

“What kind of electronics are you looking for today, sir?”

Jiang Hao cut to the chase.

“What's the best phone you've got?”

With practiced ease, Sale Sister began her pitch.

“Sir, the best we have are Huawei and Fruit!”

She presented two smartphones with large screens and sleek designs, launching into her spiel.

“Sir, this is the Fruit 9, the latest release from the American Fruit Company. It features an A.I. chip…”

Just then, a short distance from Jiang Hao, a young woman with a curvaceous figure and scant attire, her face heavily made up, overheard the conversation.

Her eyes sparkled with interest when she learned that the phone being discussed was the newest model from the American Fruit Company.

Quickly, she tugged at the arm of a middle-aged man with a prominent beer belly and drew him over to where Jiang Hao stood, eager to hear Sale Sister's pitch.

Jiang Hao sensed their approach but merely glanced their way, unbothered.

Sale Sister continued her enthusiastic rundown of the Fruit phone's features.

However, as soon as Jiang Hao learned where the Fruit phone was from, his interest waned.

He interrupted Sale Sister mid-sentence.

“Okay, no need to go on about that one.”

He then gestured to a different phone nearby and requested,

“Let's focus on domestic brands. Tell me about this Huawei.”

Sale Sister, ever patient, flashed Jiang Hao a warm smile, ready to dive into the details of the Huawei phone.

“Of course, sir!”

But Xu Jia Rong, who had been listening in, was not pleased.

“Wait, keep talking about the Fruit phone. I wasn't done listening!”

She glanced over at Jiang Hao, who stood beside her in his simple clothes, his face youthful and naive. Contempt filled her eyes.

“Listen, kid, if you can't afford it, just step aside. Don't pretend you're something you're not!”

“Supporting local brands? As if Hua Wei could ever stack up to Apple!”

Xu Jia Rong prided herself on being a die-hard Apple fan and couldn't stand anyone looking down on her beloved fruit-branded phones.

Jiang Hao turned, his gaze icy as he regarded the foolish girl before him.

He had no patience for such senseless arguments, and with a voice devoid of warmth, he commanded sharply,

“Scram!”

Xu Jia Rong, insulted and enraged, raised her hand to strike.

But Jiang Hao spun around, fixing her with a chilling stare.

In that moment, as her furious eyes locked with his frosty ones, she recoiled in alarm.

Suddenly, realization hit her.

She had been intimidated by the stare of a mere boy!

The thought flushed her cheeks with embarrassment and shame.

In a swift motion, she spun around and collapsed against the chest of a portly man beside her, sobbing dramatically as if she were channeling an award-winning actress.
