Chapter 159 - The Daily Life of a Licking Dog

Beside Jiang Hao, Little Fat eyed Lee Xuan with a furrowed brow.

“Brother Hao, you don't think Lee Xuan is here to stir up trouble, do you?”

Jiang Hao dismissed the concern with a wave of his hand.

“No worries. Let him try. I'm actually curious to see what he's got up his sleeve!”

Meanwhile, as the room buzzed with speculation, Sun Qi and his eight brothers made their entrance.

Sun Qi, grinning, surveyed the seated crowd who offered no applause, yet he didn't seem embarrassed. Instead, he joked with them as if he were an old friend.

“Seems like we're not exactly the guests of honor here!”

Lee Xuan quickly jumped in.

“Not at all!”

“Allow me to introduce everyone. This is Team Leader Sun from the Liu Yun Club, and these are his eight brothers!”

……

“The Liu Yun Club?”

Jiang Hao, who hadn't been paying much attention, perked up at the mention of the name, a flicker of recognition crossing his face.

“Oh! Now I remember!”

“Just yesterday, when I was finding bargains on Antique Street and heading home, I ran into four robbers who claimed they were from the Liu Yun Club!”

“No wonder they seemed familiar!”

……

In the midst of the introductions, Lee Xuan abruptly shifted gears, pointing at Jiang Hao as he feigned a friendly introduction to Sun Qi.

“Everyone, meet Jiang, our esteemed class monitor!”

He then turned to Jiang Hao with a mocking grin.

“Monitor, shouldn't you offer a toast to Leader Sun on behalf of our class?”

“Without my intervention, you wouldn't even have the honor of meeting Leader Sun!”

Lee Xuan's display of bravado irked many in the room.

Jiang Hao simply smiled, locking eyes with Lee Xuan.

Unable to tolerate Lee Xuan's antics any longer, Little Fat slammed his hand on the table and berated him.

“Lee Xuan, this is our class dinner, not your personal show.

Go be a sycophant on your own time, not here, throwing your weight around like you're the king of the castle!”

His words resonated with the others who shared his disdain for Lee Xuan, prompting a chorus of agreement.

“Exactly, exactly!”

Lee Xuan, now red-faced and seething, pointed accusingly at Little Fat.

“Wang Xiaoman, you…”

At that moment, Sun Qi approached with a smile spreading across his face, giving Lee Xuan a gentlemanly pat on the back as he said,

“Let's not have any hard feelings, shall we?”

His gaze then shifted to Jiang Hao.

“Are you the class monitor, Jiang Hao?”

Yet, upon getting a good look at Jiang Hao, Sun Qi's face twisted in recognition.

“Hmm? It's you!”

“Were you the one who beat up my four guys yesterday?”

He burst into a wild laugh.

“Haha, what a stroke of luck!”

“Listen, kid, hand over the Tiger Talismans and let me break your limbs like a good boy. Do that, and I might just let you live.”

Behind him, his eight henchmen closed in swiftly.

Lee Xuan, though slightly dazed, realized that Sun Qi and Jiang Hao knew each other—and clearly, there was bad blood.

A thrill of vindictive pleasure surged through him.

“Perfect, perfect!”

“Beat him to a pulp!”

The abrupt twist left everyone momentarily stunned.

But as Sun Qi's lackeys encircled their class monitor, the fiery youths of Grade 12 Class 8 rose to their feet, eyes blazing with fury at Sun Qi and his crew.

The tension in the air was palpable, like swords drawn and crossbows cocked.

Seizing the moment, Lee Xuan stepped in hastily.

“What's going on here? Sit down, everyone!”

“This is a private matter between Team Leader Sun and our monitor. There's no need for you all to go to such lengths!”
