Chapter 164 - I Gave You Two Options

Lee Xuan's body seized up as he caught sight of the chopsticks that had nearly impaled his hand, a shiver running through him. When he reluctantly turned his gaze toward Jiang Hao, a calm voice shattered the stillness.

“Lee Xuan, did I say you could leave?”

At those words, a cold terror gripped Lee Xuan.

He whirled around, dropping to his knees before Jiang Hao, kowtowing incessantly and shaking as he stammered out his apologies.

“Jiang Hao, please, in light of our three years as classmates, have mercy on me. I beg you, I'll never dare to cross you again!”

In that moment, his dignity was the last thing on his mind.

The onlookers murmured among themselves, witnessing the scene with a mix of pity and satisfaction.

Jiang Hao, however, looked down at the pitiful, tearful Lee Xuan, pleading for forgiveness, and remained utterly unaffected.

Such a scoundrel never learns his lesson.

Without a harsh reminder, he'll forget this as soon as he turns away.

Jiang Hao regarded Lee Xuan thoughtfully for a moment.

“Fine. Considering our three years together in the same class, I'll offer you two options.”

At this, Lee Xuan's desperation turned to eager anticipation, his eyes filled with hope as he looked up at Jiang Hao.

Jiang Hao then spoke, his tone measured and deliberate.

“First, you can take a punch from me, just like Team Leader Sun did. Survive that, and you're free to go.”

Lee Xuan's heart sank as Jiang Hao finished his sentence.

Could he withstand a punch from Jiang Hao?

Even Sun Qi, whom he had always relied on, had suffered broken arms at Jiang Hao's hands.

To take a punch from Jiang Hao could very well cost him his life!

As Jiang Hao's voice filled the air once more, Lee Xuan hastily fixed his gaze on him again.

But the next words that Jiang Hao uttered dashed the faint glimmer of hope that had just begun to rise within him.

“Or secondly, break one of your own fingers. Consider it a lesson learned.”

Lee Xuan was utterly stunned.

To break his own finger would mean living as a cripple.

He had never even been struck before, much less faced with maiming himself.

The thought was too much to bear.

In that moment, Jiang Hao scooped up two butterfly knives from the ground, flipping them expertly in his hands.

Yet, this very gesture weighed heavily on Lee Xuan, instilling a deep sense of dread.

Tears streaming down his face, Lee Xuan pleaded with Jiang Hao.

“Jiang Hao, Grandpa Jiang, I'm going to die. Please, have mercy on me! I'm begging you!”

Unmoved by Lee Xuan's pitiful state, Jiang Hao was resolute.

“If you won't make a choice, then I'll make it for you.”

Upon hearing this, Lee Xuan's face was etched with terror, and he desperately tried to intervene.

“No…”

But before he could finish, the air was split by a piercing sound.

“Whoosh!”

A gut-wrenching scream followed.

“Ah!”

The sound was so harrowing that it brought listeners to tears.

At that sight of Lee Xuan's condition, some of the more faint-hearted students were scared stiff, some nearly passing out.

The rest watched Jiang Hao with faces pale with fear, their eyes wide with terror.

Was this the same Jiang Hao they knew?

In their eyes, Jiang Hao had become the embodiment of cold-hearted ferocity.

Nearby, Lee Xuan, clutching his left hand, writhed on the ground, screaming in agony.

Jiang Hao's frown deepened as he issued a frosty command.

“Be quiet!”

In that instant, Lee Xuan's fear of Jiang Hao was bone-deep.

At Jiang Hao's rebuke, he immediately quieted down.

Even the other students were visibly shaken by Jiang Hao's commanding shout.

With this, the furrows in Jiang Hao's brow eased.

He cast a glance at Lee Xuan and spoke with a detached tone.

“Take your severed finger and go to the hospital now; you might still be able to save it.

If you delay any further, you may lose that chance for good.”
