Chapter 144 - Know Kareen As The Perpetrator
Bryana sighed in exasperation as she looked at Louis who was so devastated by what had happened to Lauren. She saw the sadness so deeply imprinted on the face of the bodyguard who usually seemed always friendly and smiling.
"Louis," called Dean, who had been standing casually with his arms crossed, listening to Louis who was telling about himself and Lauren.
"Yes," said Louis.
"After Lauren recovers, you marry her. make her happy, Bryana and I will bear all the wedding and honeymoon expenses for you guys," Dean exclaimed occasionally glancing at Bryana who immediately nodded in agreement.
"And you can still go back to work after marriage or after the honeymoon. you guys are already part of our family," Bryana said angrily, then glanced at the emergency room where Lauren was. "I know what I'm about to give won't change everything, but at least you two become a legal couple, even able to plan child second programs."
"Thank you, ma'am. I'll talk to Lauren when she wakes up," Louis replied with a smile but couldn't hide his sadness.
"Now the most important thing is to find the culprit who accidentally spilled oil on the stairs. I feel like there's an enemy in the blankets in our house, and I'm going to get it. drag it to jail!" Dean shouted furiously.
"Yes, because that actions have made me lose my future child, or maybe if Mrs. Bryana is passing by, Mrs. Bryana may have a miscarriage!" said Louis also furiously by tightening his jaw, clenching his fists as if he wanted to beat up the person who accidentally spilled oil on the stairs.

Elsewhere, Dany is walking into his room until he enters a closet where there is a secret door. he immediately dialed the code, which was Calvin's birthday, to open the door.
Beep... Beep. ..
The door opened. Dany immediately entered the secret room and approached the monitor screen that displayed CCTV around Kareen's room, kitchen, and living room. he replayed the tape around 7:15 when Kareen came back into the house to get her smartphone.

His smartphone rings. Dany immediately reached into his pants pocket to take out the smartphone and saw an incoming call from Monica. he immediately answered the call while sitting on the chair in front of the table where the monitor screen was located.
"Hello, Monica."
"Dany, have you seen the CCTV footage?" Monica asked over the phone.
"I'm looking at it," said Dany as he continued to stare at the CCTV footage displayed on the monitor screen.
"Is it true that Kareen did it?"
"Wait a minute." dany frowned when he saw the monitor screen which showed the atmosphere of the living room which seemed deserted, then Kareen was seen entering the room and looking around as if to see the condition or make sure there was no one other than her.
"I saw her... And she...." Dany spoke while continuing to monitor the CCTV. He watched Kareen go up the stairs almost to the top floor, then took something from her bag, then looked down at the stairs.
"What? What is she doing?" Monica asked over the phone. Sounds very curious.
"Looks like she did put something up the stairs and just walked away. Within minutes after he came out, Lauren came rushing back upstairs and . . . " dany saw how Lauren slipped and couldn't keep her balance until she fell down the stairs which was quite high.
"And Lauren fell," Dany said sadly because she couldn't bear to see Lauren.
"Damn Kareen! She's outrageous, shameful! I didn't expect to have such an evil cousin like her!" Monica sounded furious.
"I'll tell Mr. Dean right now," Dany said when he saw that on the screen there was Dean who also almost slipped when he was about to approach Lauren.
"I've asked Raymond to come as soon as possible. Let's wait for him, let him uncover Kareen's crimes. You just have to make sure that Kareen doesn't have a chance to escape."
"Okay, then, I'll turn off the phone."
"Yes."
The phone line was hung off. Dany immediately walked towards the exit of the secret room by passing through the closet door to exit the room. He rushed out of the house and drove Raymond's car to the hospital to see Dean.

Lauren has been moved to the infirmary. She had not yet regained consciousness and was accompanied by Bryana and Louis who always sat in the chair beside her bed, while Dean was asking Calvin to buy food.
Bryana sat quietly on the white sofa while staring at Louis, who was faithfully waiting to know when Lauren would wake up. 'Who wants to harm me or Dean so that Lauren becomes a victim, even loses her fetus. I feel grateful that I didn't go down those slippery stairs, but I also can't stop regretting why Lauren had to go through and fall. destiny is a mystery, but why do good people always get hurt?'
Bryana woke up from her daydream when she saw Lauren woke up. She immediately got up from the sofa and walked over to Lauren who was staring at each other with Louis.
"Lauren," Bryana greeted with a relieved smile. "You finally awake."
Lauren looked furious with her hands on her head. "Aghh, I feel so dizzy."
"Calm down, I'll call the doctor," Louis shouted as he got up from the chair.
"Louis, just let me. You accompany her," Bryana said realizing that Lauren needed Louis as a loved one, as a future husband.
Louis nodded and let Bryana walk out of the VVIP room. he turned to look at Lauren who was lying weak and complaining of pain in the head and belly, even the whole body. Naturally, because her body hit every step hard.
"Patient, honey. the doctor will be here soon," Louis exclaimed while rubbing the right side of Lauren's forehead which wasn't injured, while the left side of her forehead was covered with a bandage to cover the wound.
Lauren nodded and remembered how she suddenly slipped and fell. She looked down at her flat belly. "How is my baby here?"
Louis took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly. He looked at Lauren steadfastly, then clasped her right hand. "Our baby is at peace with God. You must be strong and patient."
Lauren sighed, as if her body was getting weaker, her heart didn't seem to have the strength to beat again. Her eyes were closed and slowly but surely she was crying, the tears could no longer be held back until they ran down her temples.
"You have to be patient, maybe this is a test for us. let it go, our baby will be at peace with God," Louis exclaimed, wiping Lauren's tears with his thumb.
"I love our future baby," Lauren murmured as she continued to cry feeling her belly. Her dream to take care of the baby with Louis seemed to have run out in an instant.
"Me too, but we can't go against it if God does take it from us. We have to let it go, it will be happy in heaven." Louis continues to try to calm Lauren even though he feels devastated for not being a father. the plan to get married and buy a new house has been carefully thought through and even saved money he has prepared to realize the plan.
From the doorway, Bryana, who had just returned and was about to enter, stopped and heard the conversation between Louis and Lauren. seeing Lauren so devastated because of the loss of her fetus, made her go back to the memory of when she also lost her fetus because of Alex's actions.
'I didn't expect something like this to happen to you, Lauren. I'm sure the perpetrator did target me as a victim, but instead, you became the victim and lost your fetus.' Briana thought with a tired feeling in her heart. 'How long will this life continue to be surrounded by someone who doesn't want my peace? God, I need justice.. I won't anyone else to be a victim again for being a part of my life.'
