Chapter 339 - Regret
At 3 p.m., Alex just arrived home. He got out of the car and was immediately greeted by Haikal who was standing in front of the terrace with Anna behind him. The man immediately embraced his son and carried him. He smiled at the boy. He looked neatly dressed in casual clothes in the form of a white shirt and cream-colored pants and saw that the babysitter also looked even more beautiful in a white calf-length dress, wearing a pink blazer and..let her hair down beautifully.
"Looks like you're ready."
Anna smiled shyly and nodded. "So you don't have to wait too long, Sir."
"Okay then I'll get ready for a bit, then we'll go for a walk and eat out," Alex said with a tinge of happiness in the world. He couldn't take his eyes off of Anna which somehow caught his attention even more. Her natural beauty, simple style, and sweet and motherly nature make him even more captivated. Oh, they must be married!
"Then, let me invite Haikal to play again, sir," said Anna, holding out her hand to hold her foster child. "Come on, son. Let's see the fish in the pond."
"Fish ..." said Haikal enthusiastically while clapping his hands. He has begun to speak and even walk smoothly.
Alex gave Haikal to Anna then he rushed into his house which is not too big but looks attractive with a futuristic design equipped with modern furniture. The house he bought from the sale of his land in London and he also got money from his brother who was concerned about his fate. But now, he has bounced back and got a permanent job at a company.
Separated from Elsa, makes Alex is even more kind and loving towards children and respects women. He still often visits Calvin, but when Raymond is around, he chooses not to visit because Raymond still hasn't forgiven him and even wants to beat him up when he meets him.
Anna took Haikal to see the fish swimming in the small pond in the small garden beside the house. Sometimes she also gives fish food to Haikal to be thrown into the pond and the fish eat it right away.
"Haikal," someone called from behind Anna.
Anna immediately turned to look at the person. "Mrs. Elsa."
Elsa approached Anna and extended her hand to Haikal. "Mommy misses you, son. Come with mommy for a while," she said sadly.
Haikal was silent for a moment looking at his mother who had not come to see him for a month, then looked at Anna who was always with him. Finally, the boy shook his head and instead tightened his arms around the babysitter instead of going with his mother.
Anna became uncomfortable with this condition and looked at Elsa who looked disappointed. She didn't want the former employer to be angry with her and accuse her of poisoning Haikal's mind to not recognize her as a mother again. "Haikal, you should come with mommy for a while, Mommy misses you," she said patiently.
Haikal still shook his head. "Mom.. aunty."
Anna became even more uncomfortable and surprised that Haikal even called her 'Mommy'.
"Sorry, madam. I never taught him..."
"Forget it ... Maybe he is disappointed and angry with me. I'll try to understand," said Elsa before Anna finished her sentence. "Where's Alex is, he still working?" She asked turning her gaze towards the house.
"He's taking a bath, Mrs," Anna replied, "we'd better go in. Who knows Haikal will want to play with you in the house."
Elsa nodded and immediately walked towards the main door of her ex-husband's house. .but when she arrived in the living room, she stopped when she saw her ex-husband had just come out of the room and down the stairs. The woman stared blankly at her ex-husband whom she had hurt just for the sake of that asshole, Carlos, and at this moment she had also been hurt by Carlos. it was like a slap to her.
"Elsa," said Alex when he arrived at the ground floor. The man looked handsome in a black sweater combined with milk brown jeans and combed his hair which was still slightly wet with a Haircut set.
"Sorry if I suddenly came ... I want to meet Haikal," said Elsa with a bend in her face.
"Oh ... That's not a problem. But it seems I can't keep you here for long because Haikal and I will go," said Alex with a flat look. Seeing Elsa, made him remember how she had betrayed him with Carlos.
"Where are you going?" Elsa asked while Anna was already sitting on the sofa with Haikal.
"Take a walk and maybe eat out," Alex replied.
"Can I come with you? I want to play with Haikal." Elsa volunteered.
"Sorry, Elsa... not that I forbid you to play with him, but better next time...when I'm not at home, you can play with him but we can't be together like this or Carlos will beat me for blind jealousy," said Alex with a flat look.
"Oh okay then. Maybe tomorrow I'll come here again when you're not home," Elsa said with a disappointed look and hugged her face. She canceled to sit as a guest and instead just walked out of the house until she passed the gate where the driver was waiting in the car on the side of the road.
Alex sighed, turning to look at Anna. "Let's go."
"But I feel bad for her, sir. She wants to be with Haikal," said Anna sadly looking at Elsa's departure.
"I don't want to take any chances. After all, she came home of her own accord, not because I kicked her out, right?" Alex looked at Anna with raised eyebrows.
"Yeah... But I feel sorry for her..moreover, Haikal refuses to be carried."
"That's the result of what she did," said Alex then hugged Anna from the side. "Let's go, before my mood worsens because she and Haikal are victims," ??he exclaimed.
Anna silently glanced at Alex who dared to embrace her from the side.
"Uh, sorry." Alex let go of his arm.
"I took my bag in the room for a moment," said Anna awkwardly.
Alex just nodded and allowed Anna to take the bag while Haikal waited by sitting on the sofa.
'Good grief. .don't let her avoid me because I suddenly want her,' he thought annoyed because he couldn't control himself.

In the car, Elsa just stared at the outside view from the glass. .the image of the sweet love of when he was with Alex to have Haikal seemed to keep on replaying in her memory. Gradually, clear drops appeared from her eyelids because the image was just a memory that he couldn't repeat.
'Now they are no longer my future, my future is Carlos, Carlos who hurt me and shared his love with other women. I shouldn't have been so carried away with what he gave me until I left Alex ...,' she thought regretfully. .like it or not he had to accept the fact that she had to endure this situation.
