Arthur Bennett expected to spend his life studying history.

He never expected to wake up inside it.

After a mysterious accident, Arthur finds himself in Roman Britain, trapped in the body of a dead clerk named Gaius Valerius. The empire is at its peak. The roads are busy. The legions are strong.

And according to the strange blue system only he can see, Rome is already dying.

At first, Arthur only wants answers. Who killed Gaius? Why are people disappearing from official records? And why does the system reward him with something called Authority?

But the deeper he digs, the more he discovers that corruption, greed, and indifference run through the empire like cracks beneath marble.
